A New Year!!!

Hello All!!!!

Sorry it's been awhile since I've been online...I actually took some time off work...Yeah for me!!!

Anyway, not much exciting, except for the fact that another year has passed, and I'm STILL scraping wallpaper ( I mean LAYERS of wall paper) from the wall in my old bedroom.

So, does anyone have any big plans for the new year ahead? Nothing exciting to speak of from my new dogs, no new roommates, no new husbands etc....

I did make a New Year's resolution which has gone pretty well so far. It's very simple...all I want to do is get my lazy butt out of my soft, cozy, warm, snuggly bed early enough to make it to work on far, so good....but don't hold your breath :-)

So, the Colts lost today....I think I better go home and have some wine to consol myself!! What a bummer after such a great season....and don't you all feel awful for Tony Dungy. He's going to have a lot more time on his hands and on his mind. What an awful thing for any parent to ever have to face.

On the up-side of things, we celebrated Grammy's 88th birthday this week!!! WOW!! Can you imagine everything you could see in that amount of time? I'm so thankful for Grammy and the whole family for that matter!! If it weren't for her, none of us would have eachother...she has built a beautiful family for us. It sounded as if Grammy really enjoyed herself this year. She partied hard until at least 10:30, because that's about when I left....what a woman!! Sorry I missed the rest of the family. But you all know me...I'm always the last one to arrive:-)

I guess that's it for now. I appologize for the lack of interesting content....just wanted to let you all know I'm still out here!!!

Hey Alli-Gal, we were wondering where you were. Lucky you - time off work! I'm jealous!!

Removing wallpaper is no fun but there is a little tool out there to help you do it. We used it to remove this really heavy wallpaper in one of our bathrooms.

I think it's called a Paper Tiger. It's a wallpaper scoring tool. It's red and round and fits in the palm of your hand. You just put it on the wall and swirl around and it scores the wallpaper.

Rich's sure fire wallpaper removing technique is to put hot soapy water in a spray bottle and spray that on the wall after you score it with the gadget mentioned above. I mean DRENCH the wall. Then it's much easier to get the paper off.

We got that wallpaper down in NO time! Be careful not to score too deeply into the wall or you'll be running to Lowe's for spackle next thing you know.

I wish I could have come home for Grammy's birthday. Sounds like quite a bash!!

Aren't we lucky to be as old as we are and still have a grandmother in such good health and with such a fun disposition! She's always been so pleasant and able to laugh off just about anything that happens around her. What an inspiration!!
