The Birthday Queen

After partying like a rock star for two nights, I had to jump back to reality for a couple of hours and play the role of the "nail chick" at our niece's birthday party Saturday afternoon. Saige Marie is the Queen sitting at the far end of the table with her hand in the cheesy puffs. Isn't she beautiful?!?!? Ryan's sister, Stacy, threw a girly party for Saige for her sixth birthday, and I got suckered into doing nails for the day.....even toe nails. You know I was thrilled to have some dirty little toes all over me. They all got their nails and toes done, got make up, and got their hair done. They also got the take a little present from each station. They got a little bottle of nail polish, some lip gloss, a tierra and a head band, and some hair glitter with make up case that Stacy painted all their names on.
We all had cheesy puffs, cupcakes, and Capri Suns after everyone got all dressed up. Saige was hiding from Ryan and the camera all day, but we finally caught her when she sat still long enough to blow her candles out. She wanted eveyone to hurry up and eat so she could open her presents.When we got done eating and washing cheese off of everyone, it was time for presents!!! Yeah!! Ryan and I bought her Cowboy Barbie and a Barbie horse to go with it. Along with Cowboy Barbie, she got about a million other Barbies....and was just as excited every time she opened one. It was cute. I kept waiting on her to complain about not getting anything else, but I guess that's all she wanted. Ryan said it looked like a Barbie masacre after they were all ripped from their boxes.....he was right :-)
We tried to get a good picture and a goofy picture of the girls before they all left.
Saige (second from the left) didn't do the goofy face for us....party pooper!!!! But she did look beautiful!!!

The girls all thought Ryan was weird. I thought that was funny. But he was bound to get picked on....he was the only boy there. He was in charge of pictures. I don't think he realized what he was getting into when he agreed to carry the camera. I'm sure he loved every minute of it!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!

Sunday March 9th was my Mom's 58th birthday. Will got her a cake and a new necklace, and I got her some earrings, a book about why daughters love their mothers, a photo album, a Sonny and Cher CD, and some note cards for writing to Germany.
I felt really bad because I had to work at 3:00, so I didn't have much time to spend with her. I think she was still happy with her day though. She was grinning from ear to ear the whole time I was there.
Here's Mom with her book. She said it was her favorite gift. She is absolutely precious. I am so happy that we have eachother.

Thank you to those of you who remembered my mom and sent her birthday cards. She was very surprised and happy. She said "I guess they really do consider me family, don't they?"
I said, "of course they do."

Big Surprise for Dan

Ryan's Dad, Dan, turned 60 on February 13th. On the 9th, we had a sursprise party for him at Hacienda. He works for the city, so we managed to get a pretty big crew from work together, and all the family within driving distance came to surprise him. I even talked my mom into going. I was really glad Ryan's mom, Janet, didn't blow the surprise. Ryan's sister and I were sure she would :-) This is Dan walking in to the party room. Janet looks more surprised than anyone else...he he he. Dan thought he was just meeting me and Ryan for dinner. So, everyone got there a little early and got some drinks and sat and waited while Ryan went to the front door to wait.
Just as expected, Dan showed up early....he always does...but we made sure eveyone was there extra early because we know that's how Dan rolls!! I would tell you who all these people are, but I'm not sure who is who. This was actually the first time I had the chance to meet some of Ryan's extended family. There were several family members from Michigan who came down for the weekend. It was great to meet everyone.
I tried to get Mom to have a drink with me, but she decided against it. I kept the strawberry daiquiries coming for awhile though :-) She had a good time, and she actually socialized a little with the everyone sitting around us. I was so happy she was there with us.
Just had to throw this picture in because of those beautiful chocolate locks.....meow!!!!! Oh yeah...that's Dan next to Ryan, and some michigan family members to his right.

We all had a great time. And like I said, I got to meet some of the family I had never met before, so that was really nice. It seems kind of strange to me that his family lives in Michigan and they don't see eachother any more often than they do. It really makes me appreciate how close our family is.

Good Times at Grammy's

I don't know about the rest of you, but I had a blast at Grammy's for her party last Saturday. I think she did too. it was great to see her having so much fun with the family all there with her.Grammy is such a good sport!! Check her out in this party hat!!!!Look at that beautiful face.....I hope we are all lucky enough to get those non-aging genes from Grammy. Can you believe she's 90 years old and still looks this good?!?!?!?Sissy joined the fun with some of Rich's little party favors. Rich always makes our family get togethers so much fun!!
Isn't his picture absolutely precious? I think it's one of very few that I got of Ari without his little tongue haning out :-)

Grammy was grinning from ear to ear all day long. I do think we probably all drove her crazy playing paparazzi all day. I got some great pictures of her though!!!Look at that giant pile of money in front of Grammy.....she kept saying she was wealthy. In my opinion, we are all wealthy because we have eachother!!!
I was so glad to see Rosie, Livi, and Amanda. We don't get to see eachother often enough!! Maybe we just need to plan more family parties so we can all see eachother as much as we want to..............
AWWWW.....what a great picture of Rosie and Grammy both. Grammy was still smiling, and this had to be at least photo number 1133445789 for the day :-)

I love this camera of Ari's. It looked a little too complicated for me, but if Ari can figure it out, then I guess maybe I should have tried harder. Apparently Livi got it figured out.

I was so happy that Ari let me take a picture with him. I think he's starting to get more comfortable around me. I gotta get over to Grammy's more often on Fridays so he won't be so shy around me.

Birthday Bash

Oh, I've been so bad!!!!! I've done so much, but remember so little................aaahhhhhhh...........lets see.....................

Nuns on the Run was the end of September, so I'll pick up there...

We went to Chicago with Jen and Chad the next weekend, but that will get it's own blog........The next day, we had a party............

Ryan's youngest niece, Adysen, turned one year old on October 3rd, so we had a big birthday bash for her at the park in Rossville. It was the typical one year old party....I got some pretty cute pictures of her with her cake.......

She's just getting started here :-)

Ryan's birthday bash

OK. I gotta try to make this quick. My shift is almost over....and then I'll be heading to Vegas baby!!!!!!

Ryan's 28th birthday was Sunday, August 19th. He decided that he wanted to throw a kegger for himself. Sounded like a good plan to me, so that's what we did!!!A friend of Ryan's bought him "das boot" for his b-day gift. It's a HUGE boot-shaped glass that holds 54 ounces of liquid. Ryan emptied it several times that day :-) It's from the movie "Beer Fest." Pretty ridiculous movie, but ridiculous in a good way!!We had a plethora of yard games. So many, I didn't even get to play them all..................Ryan's dad made him a cornhole toss game for his birthday. It's got handles on the sides for easy transport. We will be carrying this everywhere with us!!!! That is my friend Cindy in the scrubs, and Jeff throwing the beanbag. He plays in a band out in West Middleton with our buddy Bobby Blue.My girls Ashley and TeShannah were the last ones standing at the end of the night with Ryan and me.Ryan was trashed and had the camera, so we were all laughing as he was snapping picutres.....I love those girls!!!!!Shake it TeShannah, shake it!!!!!Ryan looks like a wild man, doesn't he!!!! I believe he was winning the game they were playing....not sure why I get that idea, but that's what I think!!

This is Monday morning at about noon when everyone peeled themselves out of bed......looking pretty good considering.............................
